This mod is mostly based on the old "Persistence Distance Creatures" by bentusi, but with some modifications.
First, the mod increases dramatically the chance for some super rare animals to spawn.
Second, the spawning distance for all animals is increased (x5 for ground, x3 for air, and x2 for water). This has the effect of you being able to see the red dot from farther away.
Third, the density and spawning distance for CAVE animals is multiplied by 10. I spent an entire day trying to find the last (cave) animal on a planet. It was supposed to be common. After I tried the mod for the first time, they showed up immediately after loading the game.
I hope this mod helps everyone who just can't move on from a planet without finding everything!
I might change the balancing as I continue to play, and feel free to suggest modifications!
The mod modifies almost all the files contained in METADATA\SIMULATION\ECOSYSTEM\ROLEDESCRIPTIONTABLES, so it is incompatible with any other mod that uses those files as well.
Just extract the .pak file to your GAMEDATA/PCBANKS/MODS folder (create it if it doesn't exist). Also, remember to delete or rename the DISABLEMODS.TXT file to enable mods.
